The soloists, choruses, and orchestras of the two Prague-based opera ensembles are collaborating to create an advent calendar made of short clips filmed in all three historical opera houses of Prague – the National Theater, the State Opera, and the Estates Theater. The creators promise that the musical advent calendar will be full of surprises, not just the usual carols and seasonal pieces.

The very first performance of the advent calendar dropped today, November 29th, 2020. A new “tidbit” will appear every day until December 25th on the Facebook, Instagram and YouTube channels of the National Theater Opera.

The participating performers would like this project to support not just their fans but everyone who considers music to be one of the pillars of a free spirit. The experienced director Magdalena Švecová is leading the projects, which is filmed by Italian cameraman Marco Chiodi with dramaturgy by Beno Blachut.
